Al-shabaab attacks Kenyan military base in Somalia

Heavily armed of Al-shabaab fighters attacked Kenyan military base in Lower Jubba region on Monday, local media reports.

According to witnesses the group has launched an attack on Kulbiyow base which is one of the largest Kenyan military bases in the horn of Africa nation. Residents said that the fighting between the sides took more than one hour.

The Al-Qaidda linked terrorist group previously attacked this base, on January 2017 and killed dozens of Kenyan soldiers and they also lost more than 70 of its fighters.

Websites liked to the insurgent group reported that Al-shabaab was behind the attack, saying number of soldiers was killed without specifying the number of casualties.

Al Shabaab militants on Sunday staged a daring dawn attack on a Kenyan-US military base in Lamu and killed three soldiers.
