Somalia and Qatar inked a deal on satellite network

Somalia’s minister of post, telecom and technology Abdi Anshur Hassan and his delegation in Qatar have met with Qatari minister of transport and telecommunication Jassim bin Saif and they discussed the mutual communication relationship between the two countries.

In their meeting the two ministers also discussed a new cooperation of communication and technology, especially investment on telecom, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, Somalia and Qatar inked an agreement of satellite communications in order to improve Somalia’s capability of telecom.

“The new cooperation of the two countries will take major role for investing Somalia’s telecom industry” Eng. Anshur said.

Qatar is important ally for Somali government and helps rebuilding and strengthening the institutions.

Currently the Gulf State is implementing major projects including rebuilding roads and other infrastructures.
